What Colour Cladding?
11 May 2022
Do not underestimate the importance of ‘kerb’ appeal, recent studies show 68% of people would pay more money for a house that is externally appealing.
Cladding is a low-cost way of dramatically enhancing the exterior look of your home. Here at Blakeley Profiles we have such a variety of external wall cladding, we are often asked for advice in choosing the right one.
Colour is the most important consideration, but material and finish should also be taken into account.
Colour- Should you match or contrast? You can match your cladding to your roof colour, fascia/soffit colour, window colour or wall finish for a consistent look. Or create interest by going for a completely different colour to stand out.
Material – Our most common cladding is PVC, the thermal boosting properties reduce energy costs and limit external noise. Economical, light, durable and easy to fit whilst also being fire resistant for peace of mind (Since the Grenfell tragedy we have been asked a lot about fire resistance).
For those that don’t want to use PVC, Cement Fibre is an alternative. Also fully fire resistant, heavier and comes pre-finished in over 30 different colours.
*We can paint both PVC and Cement Fibre to any RAL/BS colour or match to a non-standard colour of your choice.
Finish- In addition to material and colour, you also need to choose the finish to make the cladding work with your surroundings. We offer smooth, Woodgrain (a fine texture), or Embossed (a more pronounced woodgrain finish). Pick from these finishes to perfectly complement any property style from a farm cottage to a contemporary cube style house, or even a beach hut!
